The solutions we tailor are based on the following product lines:

Business IP (BIP)

Business IP is an integrated wide area networking (WAN) solution provided for a single monthly price-per-site and allows your businesses to conveniently use existing customer premise equipment (CPE) or new CPE supplied by Flexnet or your preferred IT supplier..

Business IP is comprised of a package of Telstra data products including;

  • Network access to suit requirements:

    • BIP ADSL with speeds ranging from 256/64Kbps to HS ADSL (up to 20Mbps/1Mbps)
    • BIP BDSL with speeds ranging from 128Kbps to 4Mbps.
    • BIP Frame Relay with speed ranging from 64Kbps to 2Mbps

  • Enhanced features such as Dynamic Class of service to prioritise traffic. Your CPE must tag the packets to allow the network to prioritise appropriately.

  • Next IP MPLS core network with any-to-any connectivity, scalability and security.

  • Network design and configuration

Connect IP (CIP)

Connect IP extends the BIP concept one layer further with the inclusion of a Cisco Router and if required a secure 2Mbps network based Internet access & firewall

Connect IP will enable a customer to tailor IP network solutions in a simpler and faster manner than sourcing the IP networking components individually. It eliminates large up front fees and provides the entire solution in a simple monthly rental.

Connect IP is comprised of a package of Telstra data products including;

  • Network access to suit requirements:

    • CIP ADSL with speeds ranging from 256/64Kbps to HS ADSL (up to 20Mbps/1Mbps)
    • CIP BDSL with speeds ranging from 128Kbps to 4Mbps.
    • CIP Frame Relay with speeds ranging from 64Kbps to 2Mbps

  • Best of breed Cisco Routers rented for the term of the contract

    • Break/fix reactive support where you the customer must call Telstra to advise of a fault.
    • Alternatively, proactive management where Telstra monitors the router and access responding to alarms and outages, often before you have observed the degradation in performance.
    • Cisco 877 routers are supplied on ADSL solutions and Cisco 1841 routers on BDSL solutions.

  • Enhanced features such as Dynamic Class of service to prioritise traffic, DHCP server to allocate IP addressing

  • Next IP MPLS core network with any-to-any connectivity, scalability and security

  • Network design and configuration

IPMAN

The preceding products can be categorised as IPWAN solutions where the service, once installed has access to any other site on the network across Australia and, via Global IP to international destinations.

IPMAN is, as the name implies, a Metropolitan Area Network service, design and costed to exchange data with other services in the same MAN area. Eg Melbourne.

IPMAN is a fully fibre based solution that breaks the 4Mbps boundary of the BDSL service.

The CPE, such as a router, can be supplied and managed by Telstra Managed WAN group, supplied and supported by Flexnet or your preferred IT supplier.

IPMAN is comprised of;

  • Network access to suit requirements:

    • Access speeds from 2Mbps to 1Gbps
    • IPMAN is the one to many configuration allowing interworking with CIP & BIP services.
    • Telstra Ethernet is a point to point variant often used as a high speed internet access for solutions such as Telstra Internet Direct (TID) Ethernet Premium packages

  • Enhanced features such as Dynamic Class of service to prioritise traffic. Your CPE must tag the packets to allow the network to prioritise appropriately.

  • Next IP MPLS core network in the MAN area

  • Should the IPMAN service need to connect to the broader IPWAN a Wide Area Port (WAP) is needed. Flexnet has a complete understanding of the business rules associated with dimensioning the WAP.

  • Network design and configuration

IP Value Added Services (IPVAS)

Telstra’s IP VAS (Value Added Services) gives IP networks up-to-date protection against internet-based security attacks, without big set-up costs, on-going maintenance and upgrade expenses. IP VAS is sold in conjunction with Telstra’s IP WAN, IP MAN or Connect IP network solutions,

Utilising the powerful Telstra Next IP™ network and Next G™ network, Telstra can design and deploy complete security solutions to improve protection and reduce security management costs and complexities.

  • CIP Basic Internet Gateway

    • security and firewall functionality between your Connect IP service and Internet Direct service

  • Standard Internet Gateway

    • security functionality from your IP networking service and your Internet Direct service
    • including firewall, predefined content security

  • Enhanced Internet Gateway

    • security functionality from your IP networking service and your Internet Direct service
    • including firewall, flexible content security
    • remote connection

  • Premium Internet Gateway

    • security functionality from your IP networking service and your Internet Direct service
    • including the Enhanced Internet Gateway with additional remote connections

The definition of the functions follows:

  • Managed firewall solution – commercial-grade security and high network performance with policy and management control

  • Remote connection - secure access from the internet to your IP VPN using tunnelling technology. Site to site and Client to Site tunnels are supported

  • Anti-virus and anti-spam – reduce risk exposure to your business through a range of anti-virus and anti-spam risk-mitigation management options (not available for Basic Internet packages)

  • Content filtering – improved control via content filtering technology and processes (included for Standard, Enhanced and Premium interest Gateway Packages only)
