Internet & Network Technologies

Telstra has a range of internet service for every business need. Solutions range from home based broadband access for browsing or tunneling into corporate networks through to high performance high bandwidth solutions for the corporate Internet gateway.

Internet based VPN’s securely linking corporate sites can be designed, installed and managed by Flexnet’s IT team. Note that Telstra does not directly supply Internet VPN’s offering the NextIP MPLS based private network for corporate networking.

Flexnet can consult on the most appropriate solution for your business then order the service, track the deployment and assist with commissioning to the level required by your business.

Telstra Business Broadband (TBB)

TBB is Telstra’s Internet product aimed directly at the SME market offering high performance solutions supplemented by a business grade help and technical support desk.

TBB offers solutions superior to Big Pond but remains very cost effective.

TBB includes:

  • Direct connection to Telstra national internet backbone. Traffic does not transit an ISP reducing hops and contention with other ISP users.
  • ADSL/ADSL2+ and Ethernet based solutions are offered
  • The data allowances refer to Download only which is very important if the company web site is connected to this service. A range of allowances are available through to unlimited plans.
  • Note that when the monthly allowance is exceeded the service still continues to run at full speed with additional data charged at an excess rate. Again it is very important for a business access to continue to provide maximum performance.
  • Multiple static IP addresses are available to customers at no additional charge.
  • Custdata is the Internet based portal that provides reports on the services data usage on a daily or monthly basis and provides you the customer control over the DNS settings.
  • The help desk provides business level support both in terms of the service contract/billing and a technical team to assist with DNS set up and configuration issues.
  • Compatible with T-suite SaaS solutions such as hosted email and messagelabs mail and web security products
  • The scope of the Telstra router installation is to prove connectivity to the internet. Should customized configurations to suit firewalls or VPN tunnels be required this can be done by Flexnet’s IT services team or alternatively by your IT contractor.
